God sending the greatest gift: The Messiah

• Isaiah 9:6 — For to us a child is born, to us a son is given (the Messianic promise)

• Luke 4:18 — The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me (Yeshua announcing His own mission)

• Romans 8:32 — He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all (the cost of the gift)

Forgiveness — the extraordinary gift

• Ephesians 1:7 — In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins

• Colossians 2:13-14 — He forgave us all our sins, having cancelled the charge of our legal indebtedness

• Isaiah 43:25 — I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake (God’s initiative in forgiveness)

• 1 John 1:9 — If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and purify us

The playground — Earth as journey from darkness to light

• John 8:12 — I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will not walk in darkness

• 1 Peter 2:9 — Called out of darkness into His wonderful light

• Ephesians 2:1-5 — You were dead in your transgressions… but God made us alive (the awakening journey)

• 2 Corinthians 3:18 — We are being transformed into His image from glory to glory (the progressive awakening)

Just through believing — faith as access

• John 11:25-26 — I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me will live

• Acts 16:31 — Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved

• Romans 10:9 — If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart, you will be saved

• Ephesians 2:8-9 — It is by grace you have been saved, through faith — not by works

Death died — the Resurrection

• 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 — Where O death is your victory? Where O death is your sting? Thanks be to God who gives us the victory

• 2 Timothy 1:10 — Christ Jesus has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light

• Hebrews 2:14 — By His death He broke the power of him who holds the power of death

• Romans 6:9 — Death no longer has mastery over Him (and therefore over us)

WITH — Eternal life as union, not just destination

• John 17:3 — This is eternal life: that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ (eternal life is relational, not just endless)

• John 14:3 — I will come back and take you to be with me (WITH is the point)

• Revelation 21:3 — God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell with them

• 1 Thessalonians 4:17 — And so we will be with the Lord forever

The Holy Spirit sent to sustain the WITH

• John 14:16-17 — He will give you another advocate to be with you forever — the Spirit of truth

• John 16:7 — It is for your good that I am going away; unless I go, the Advocate will not come

• Romans 8:11 — The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you

• Acts 2:38 — Repent and be baptized, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit
